During the day Elise popped up in the Google chat box and suggested that we go to McDonalds with the children. Of course this was because they had spammed us with some coupons with special prices for various Bigmac etc. combos. While I like the idea of burgers, I much prefer Burger King, so we decided to pretend to be rich enough not to worry about coupons. After picking Meta up from school they came via my office to pick me up. Off to the Leidse Plein we went.
It is very cute to see little Roald perched on his seat next to his big sister. With his little white sun-hat, he smiles at passers by. And I am not the only one who thinks he is cute, we have tourists exclaim and look at us as we bicycle by. Later on at the plein some guy with a big camera round his neck asked for permission to take a pic of the little ones perched in the bakfiets.
After getting the burger loot we listened to a guy play double-bass and sing "in an old voice" said Meta. Next stop was the Vondelpark where we sat on the grass and snarfed our burgers. Of course Meta didn't actually want to eat her cheeseburger, but I didn't mind. My Whopper vanished in a trice and I could get rid of Meta's remaining burger too. Burp.
After playing a bit with some random balloons (which didn't last all that long- POP!), and climbing in the baby playground, we bicycled back home. A top-and-tail wash and bedtime.
A very fun way to end the day.
