We were invited by Bette and Andre to join them in the Kleine Komedie theater in Amsterdam to go and see Stef Bos. Before the show we had some dinner in a pizzeria close by, and lots of catching up and good times.
As for the show, it was beautiful but also seemed slightly melancholic. Reserved, somehow. More theater and poetry than rousing musical entertainment. We have see him perform live before, and that was more of a 'live' one.
Maybe it was the references and homage to one of my other favourite artists, Johannes Kerkorrel, that set the tone for the rest of the show for me. Kerkorrel killed himself a few years ago. I remember clearly sitting at the airport, waiting for my flight back home and reading the newspaper announcing his death. You know you are getting old(er) when most of your favourite artists are not alive any more.
