For a while now I have noticed that the people in charge of the *.amsterdam.nl really do have a clue. Makes me very happy. They fully use sub-domains for the various neigbourhoods of the city (like www.baarsjes.amsterdam.nl where I live)
They also prepend the domains with www. something which I have wondered about doing. Do the public at large know yet that the www. in front of a URL does not really mean anything, and does not have to be there? It is just convention, and has a historic reason which today is completely superflous. Except that normal people might not recognise the line as a URL if you leave off the www.
